Position Details: Packaging Mechanic

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Atleast 3 years' experience in maintenance of bottle packaging lines (repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting).
  • At least 2 years' experience in pharma, food, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or manufacturing industries.
  • Basic English communication skills (reading & speaking).
  • Knowledge of cGMP, OSHA standards, and ability to follow written instructions precisely.
  • Mechanical inclination to understand and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, electric meters, and measuring equipment.
  • PLC experience is a plus.
  • General PC proficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs on packaging and pneumatic equipment.
  • Conduct changeover and setup of packaging machines, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical systems, and make appropriate repairs.
  • Execute daily preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including packaging equipment, conveyors, and compressors.
  • Assist with equipment installations within the plant structure and complete work orders to repair machinery.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and adjust machinery.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Set up full line configurations of multiple pieces of equipment independently.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report any unusual situations to supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, cGMPs, Ethical Business Practices, and SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including operation logs and batch records.
  • Ensure product meets applicable quality standards through inspection and required sampling/testing.
  • Guide and coach Packaging Operators in the safe and effective operation of packaging line machines.
  • Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure product integrity.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist with other mechanical or maintenance needs of the building as required.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance and work extended hours and occasional weekend overtime as needed.
